Asteres Inc., a provider of 24/7 automated pharmacy kiosks, announced today that Guthrie Health is the first hospital pharmacy to offer over-the-counter products in addition to prescriptions via the ScriptCenter kiosk.
Hospitals are installing ScriptCenter to provide a quick and convenient prescription drop-off and pick-up service to hospital employees, especially those who work when the pharmacy is closed. Now, with a selection of top-selling OTC items in ScriptCenter, Guthrie employees and patients have 24/7 access to purchase a wide variety of healthcare products.
"Adding our leader brand OTCs is a big benefit to our employees and clinic patients. Our employees really appreciate the convenience of picking up their prescriptions and OTC's on all shifts," said Robert Schmidt, system director of pharmacy, in the announcement. "The ER can now send patients to ScriptCenter saving them an extra trip to the store. Making OTC items available 24/7 for our staff and clinic patients just makes sense."
For prescription pick up, users enroll at ScriptCenter or ScriptCenter.com to create their log-in ID and PIN. For OTC products, no log-in is required, so anyone can shop ScriptCenter for the health care items they need. ScriptCenter accepts debit, credit and flexible spending cards.
Guthrie Health is a community-based, not-for-profit health care system that provides care for 200,000 patients annually within its eleven-county area service area across the northern tier of Pennsylvania and the southern tier of New York.
