Techno Brain, a software solutions provider in Africa, India and the U.S., recently announced that it has successfully deployed self-service information kiosks for the National Social Security Fund in Tanzania.
Techno Brain deployed self-service information kiosks at all the regional offices of NSSF and at designated strategic locations across the country. According to Techno Brain, the kiosks act as virtual NSSF officers and inspectors, extending the reach of the NSSF's traditional desk-bound services to members.
NSSF also required a built-in biometrics-based security feature in the kiosks to prevent misuse of services by non-members and to protect privacy of confidential member information, so each kiosk has been equipped with smart-card reader and fingerprint scanner. Every member has to authenticate their identity by inserting their smart membership card and scanning their fingerprint for validation before being able to access their account.
With this solution, NSSF members will have the freedom to gain access to their account details and conduct transactions in both in English and Swahili, the company said. The kiosks will also help the members in booking appointments with their relevant inspectors for specific requests, avoiding the waiting process in long queues.
