Asteres Inc., a provider of automated pharmacy kiosks, announced today that Guthrie Health in New York is the first hospital pharmacy to offer over-the-counter (OTC) products in addition to prescriptions at ScriptCenter kiosks.
"Adding our leader brand OTCs is a big benefit to our employees and clinic patients," said Robert Schmidt, system director of the pharmacy. "Our employees really appreciate the convenience of picking up their prescriptions and OTCs on all shifts."
The emergency room will also be able to send patients to ScriptCenter
"Making OTC items available 24/7 for our staff and clinic patients just makes sense," Schmidt said.
For prescription pick up, users enroll at a ScriptCenter or ScriptCenter.com to create ID and PIN numbers. No log in is required for OTC medication, and the ScriptCenter accepts debit, credit and flexible spending cards.
