According to smarthouse.com, Fujifilm is using Microsoft's Surface smart coffee table system as a new way for consumers to create and buy photobooks. The photography company is set to introduce 40 of the touchscreen units to Harvey Norman retailers around Australia this July.

Fujifilm wants to push growth with their photobook products in retail stores by leveraging the multitouch touchscreen capabilities of the Microsoft Surface "collaborative table."

The large touchscreen table is navigated by touch, swipe, drag and pinch controls similar to those on an iPad, with photo cropping and effects tools.

Users create their photobook from photos they upload, then purchase the finished product on-screen and have it delivered to them in about 10 days.
